Solved: Vista - Some apps low resolution
I have a new Vista (Home Premium) PC, and everything seems to work fine except for one problem. Some applications seem to be running at a lower resolution to the rest of the system, meaning they're huge and blurry. Most apps are fine - the ones that are affected are Windows Mail, Windows Live Messenger, and Napster. Some dialogs, and Installshield installations are too.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Could you possibly take a screen shot of this issue, and when its running correctly, and post it?

I just discovered the media center keyboard doesn't have a print screen button!

I did it with screen clipper, though.

hmmmm. I havent seen that before

Is this a laptop? Or PC with a monitor? Is the monitor a Flat Panel or CRT?

If you right-click on your desktop and select Personalize and then Display settings, list your "Resolution", "Colors", and what graphics card you have

It's a desktop with a CRT monitor.

Resolution is 1280x1024, colours is Highest (32-bit), graphics card is NVIDEA GeForce 7300 SE (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM).

Thanks!

Ok, I found and solved the problem. My DPI was set to 144. I dropped it to 120 and it helped a bit. I dropped it back to 96 and now it's fine. Surely these apps should scale, though?

Thanks for your help anyway! I'd never have thought of it if it weren't for your posts.
