Hard-Drive reports 15Gb used but only 10Gb is?
I hace installed Vista Ultimate 2 days ago and when I 1st installed it
the hard-drive only reported about 8Gb being used...which is about right
then I was went to erase my 512Mb Memory Stick to use on ReadyBoost
and it appeared to be deleting the 1000' of files (Portable Apps) but was taking
a long while and i became suspicious when the hard-drive light was flashing realy
fast... the erasing window kept displaying different amounts left (50Mb, 30Mb etc)
but when I aborted it there was just a 23Kb file left...

I then checked the hard-drive free space and after that incident it reported 13Gb used
(4Gb just appeared from no-where) then today i opened IE7 and the light was flashing
again and this time the drive reports 15Gb used??? so its nearly doubled in 24 hours?
what can be causing this problem...? when i get windows to display all files including
hidden and system files then highlight them all in C:/ the righ-click and choose properties
which tells you how many files is on the drive and how much space they use it reports
11Gb.... so why does Vista actually report 15Gb? and what is causing the HD to jump up
in used size? the only programs i have installed are:-
AOL - Active Virus Shield
FireFox
Office 2007
ObjectDock
Windows Live Messenger

anyhelp greatley appreciated

THX
