Windows Backup?
This may sound stupid but here goes!!!!!

I have a windows XP home pc I was going to use the windows backup utility can I use windows restore to restore these files to a windows Vista pc

I don't know if the two formats are compatible. I suggest just copying the files over. I wouldn't recommend any type of backup utility in this case.

Networking, USB FLASH drive, CD-RW, USB Hard Disk, etc.

Don't use the backup utility.
