Thanks very much Peter. I should have checked out Acer properly.
I must have missed it on my first lot of downloads.
This link helped me out a lot too maybe others with the same problem can check it out.

Things looked good for a while. Now another snag.
I can't get the WiFi to work. Internet works OK when I connect with cable to router, but
wireless does not work. Looked at the Acer site but I cant recognize any drivers for this.
Has anyone got suggestions. Thanks

I downloaded all the required drivers from ther acer europe website but the sata drivers needed to extract to a floppy but I can't find one in my office nor my friends I've checked with.

I double clicked on f6flpy32.exe and it doesn't do anything. I tried maping A drive to a usb drive but didn't trick it too..

Anybody can help? Or can somebody help to extract the F6 Sata driver from
ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/noteboo...e_6292/driver/
and zip them up for me?

Thumbs up install sata driver without floppy drive
1) download sata driver for windows xp from intel website
2) integrate that driver with your windows xp bootable installer cd using nLite (you may download it free from http://www.nliteos.com/download.html )
3) create ISO image for that cd with driver integrated and then continue to burning that ISO image to cd
4) now install windows xp with that cd, it's works perfectly

from nLite application, browse to the Windows XP CD installer (I’m not responsible to any legally use of Windows XP installer) & let it cached to a specified path:

Then, press Drivers & Bootable ISO button to inserting the SATA drivers & continue to create an ISO image to burn in a CD:

Clicking on Next button, you will be prompted to inserting from the source disk of SATA drivers software:

Insert the source disk contain SATA driver files and select all:

Finally, confirmed with YES button to continue to burning the ISO image:

After it finished, let it try to boot from this bootable CD next to your computer or notebook.
