HP DV2000 front jacks
I have a HP DV 2000 notebook that is about 3 months old. It is running windows Vista business. Yesterday i noticed that the front headphone jacks will not work. I have tired all the drivers i could find however the ports still will not work. I here a pop when i insert headphones into the jack however sound still ONLY comes from the PC sneakers . Any ideas??

Update

The sound on my doc also doesn't work. . When i plug in the docking station the speakers connected to it doesn't work ether. Sound still comes out of the PC speakers.

Mines started doing that too, same laptop and pretty much the same age. Did you find a solution for this? Thanks x

ill go ahead and join in...
ya so my dv6000 just did the same thing...out of the blue....i installed active x from microsoft updates website...and the sound from my headphone jacks was non existent---this after using the jacks for an amplified sound system just minutes before----im dling new updates and i think microsoft has a new update for the sound drivers.....ill let yall know wat happens......but if nebody knows wtf is goin on ---im all ears---this is driving me crazy-----the hp tech even said "its the headphone jacks that are bad".....................help!!

If you still hear the sound from speakers after pluging jacks in, it can be faulty audioboard, or audioboard is not properly connected to motherboard.
on one_certified_wi question answer is - you just burned your audioboard, you can connect them nominal line-in.
