Solved: Question about New Windows Vista PC
I recently bought a new laptop installed with Miscroft Vista and Microsoft Office 2007.

I've used Microsoft Office Word 2007 a few times, but am no longer able to do so because it now asks for a 25 character product key. Am I supposed to buy a product key somewhere, or, having bought this PC with Office already installed, shouldn't that product key be somewhere? If so, where?

Are you sure this wasn't a trial edition? Did you contact the company you bought the computer from or at least look over the invoice for it to see what you really purchased? MS Office 2007 would add a few hundred dollars to the purchase price.

I'm not sure about yours but my new HP came with a trial that was a pain in the neck opening wordpad etc. and asking for the license key. needless to say it is long gone along with any other freebies and trials that just bog down your system. I don't use office but I hear open office has many of the same features and is compatable with windows and is free.

Thank you so much for your help!

I agree that it was a rather big pain in the neck. I think I'll clean out all the freebies that came with it as well.

Again, thanks everyone.
