Lost Media Center on Vista
I was wondering if anyone else has made this mistake, or perhaps, even knows how to correct it.

A month or so ago I rezised my Media Center window into non-existance. Yes, I'm quite proud of that. I was attempting to make a very small TV window while I was doing some other tasks that needed more screenspace. What I ended up doing is making it so I can only see my Media Center in MAXIMIZE mode now. All attempts to restore my scalable window have failed. Any ideas, short of reload my system from scratch, as to how I might recover this boo boo?

Howdy
Have you done a double left click on the screen? That usually does the trick - sorry if you did it already! Otherwise, if you move tge mouse, do you get the minimise/ close buttons on top right?
Let us know how it goes, see if anything else works

Here's more info
When I shrunk my scalable window into non-existance, I have no way of recovering it. I tried the resize and move options (just to see where it placed the cursor in hopes of "grabbing a bit of it to enlarge") but the cursor goes to the extreme top left and doesn't allow me to move or resize it that way. I assume that it's displayed off screen somehow but changing screen resolution to smaller or larger hasn't helped.

I have a Windows Media Center tab on the taskbar when the program is running but the only option available to me is to maxiimze the screen. Other than not being able to resize to other than maximum screen size, everything works normal. So my choices are NOT SEE ANYTHING or USE ENTIRE SCREEN. I must say I'm quite impressed with the mess I made of this; >>>pats self on back.

Tried doubleclicking everything so far, screen, taskbar tab, beer tabs.... sigh, only the last has brought me any satisfaction. But I'm willing to keep trying folks. Thanks for the suggestion tho.

Same problem
The exact same thing happened to me with media center. I'm running XP on an AMD athlon and a GEforce 5200 video card. I use three dispays, (video card only supports 2, but a Y adapter replicates the second display to the 3rd) and I didn't even attempt to minimize the MC window into "non-existance", in fact i had it nearly covering my screen but NOT maximized, and i dragged it mostly off screen leaving a bit of the right border exposed to drag it back later. I did some browsing on the internet, no software updates or anything, and then when i went to drag the MC window back over, it had vanished completely.

I tried the same things you did, and everything else suggested here, and eerily enough, if i right click and select move on the taskbar over the MC application it moves the mouse right where your's is going, the top right edge of my desktop. Anyway i just wanted you to know its not a problem exclusive to Vista, let me know if u figure it out.

I don't know if your still having the same problem, but i solved mine by moving my multiple displays into a "horizontal span" mode, with the side that my cursor jumped to when i tried to move it as the left half of the display, and there it was. If you have software for your video card I'd try searching for an option like "prevent windows from opening off-screen" and hopefully it will re-appear. Well good luck, hope that was helpful.

Thanks Liquid...,

Although I couldn't use your suggestion as listed, it gave me a new phrase to google and that led me to a fix for my problem. Here's what I did, i case anyone else does this to themselves.

Right Click the item on the taskbar
Select Move
Press any arrow key once
Then use your mouse to manually move the window

I wasn't using my move command correctly in earlier trials - not knowing I had to hit an arrow key first. But after reading this, I was able to fix my problem.

Thanks again Liquid!!! You saved the day.
