No Internet Connection with Vista
Since iinstalled VIsta last night, its been a heahache to use the internet. Everytim i start it up, Vista says there ia a problem with the internet connection. I do a "repair" but it still says it cant fix it. One thing i have noticed is that when i disable the Windows Firewall, the internet works fine but unprotected. Whats causing this? I have wired DSL and onboard LAN

I think you have answered your own quesion being that the Firewall is blocking your internet! Go to:

CONTROL PANEL
WINDOWS FIREWALL
ALLOW A PROGRAM THROUGH WINDOWS FIREWALL
EXCEPTIONS

........... then have a look through the list and see if your ISP's name is there - most probably it is but it should also have a tick in the box beside it.

While you are in there, make sure other stuff like Internet explorer and anything internet related also has a tick in the box.

If your ISP is NOT listed, then click on ADD PROGRAM and then browse through your PROGRAM FILES till you find it's .exe file (e.g. aol.exe) and then just add it.
