File Upload Hp Total Care Advisor
John,

I don't mind doing an upload of the file, afterall HP put the file on my computer for repair. It is a zipped *.rar file and I will use a site that is safe and secure I will look at that site and check to see if the security is set to scan the file for safe file transfer. I would rather post is so everyone has the chance to fix their computer instead of HP Corporate screwing us over. Also, when you do get the file create a back-up of the application file for the console window. In the mean time, go ahead and make sure that all the other steps provided for the file have been followed, such as downloading the HP library file @ the link posted above and the Winrar.exe application too. The Total care advisor is no good unless you have the HP file above also installed or updated on your computer. Afterall, the failure was in the console application not the file I have directed to download above. Keep in mind all the applications still work with the HP file above, just not in one window like it was designed to do. So, go ahead and get the file from the HP site if you haven't already and I will help you get the file HP gave me to fix my unit.

Thanks a bunch mate. I appreciate all this help from you. I have already downloaded winrar as well as the file from HP site. So as soon as I get the total care file, I should be all set. Let me know where you plan to upload the file and I can download accordingly. Looks like mediafire could be an appropriate choice - you could rename the file if you wish (since they had removed the file earlier).
Again thanks a lot for all your help!!

HP TotalCare Advisor Fix Failures Solution
Okay I have both versions upload and I am going to start a new thread attached in link to this one as well. Standby and I will post the site. The previous instructions still apply, however the mediafire site has changed. For the Desktop Version I will go ahead and give the site now.

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?atzyaekamsn (Desktop Version)

and the Laptop Version is

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?1ecldbjnetf (Laptop version)
If You don't get the battery screen, let me know and I will upload it again just in case I duplicated the same file.

Prose

Okay the two versions are listed correctly on the sites. the Laptop version will give you a battery strength level in the upper right hand corner. I will begin a new thread in coalition with this one in order to follow the forumn.

Unfortunately I am not able to send a PM. It gives me an error msg " Sorry, but you're not yet able to send PMs. Please try again later". Wonder why I am not able to PM - could be there is a waiting period since I just joined this community a couple of days ago.
I think it would be easier if you could upload to a common place so that other members who need this file would have access too. If for some reason you are not able to upload then we would have to try and use email - I would rather not post my email on the forum since at this time I am not able to send any PM's.
Any suggestions??

Cheers!!

The laptop version works perfectly. Only comment for others when extracting the rar file - make sure that you extract to the Hewlett-Packard folder under Program Files and not to the desktop or anywhere else you might have saved the rar file. If you do extract the rar file to a location other than the above, then you can simply copy the extracted folder and paste it to the program files/Hewlett-Packard directory.

prose - thanks once again for the file.

Well John..Thanks for reminding everyone that. It is listed above in the directions to do that...I just need to edit the above instructions or start a new thread attached to this one. I am happy you are up and running again... P.S. back-up the rar file just in case you need it. HP will not do a thing for you if the site disappears again. I have them saved and backed up....
