Strange Vista 64 ultimate networking problem.
Hi Guys,
Broadband provider : Zen.co.uk
Modem : U.S.Robotics usr9003
Machine : Apple MacPro
Network Card : Intel PRO/1000
I am having some strange problems with networking under a new install of Vista 64 Ultimate and am completely stumped, maybe someone can help me out.

The first problem I noticed was my NOD32 virus checker could not update its virus definitions, then I noticed that Outlook could not receive email but could sen it.
If I do a diagnose and repair on the network interface vista says it could not find any problem with the connection.
If I test out pop3 connection useing telnet I get the following:
telnet mailhost.zen.co.uk 110
+OK pythagoras, Zen Internet POP3 Server Ready

It just hangs at the RETR command.

I have tried with Firewall and defender off with no change.
I have also installed VMWare Workstation onto Vista 64 and set up an xp32 virtual machine, all networking works perfectly withing the virtual machine includeing email and nod32 virus definition update.
Anyone any ideas?
All the best
