Timeing out and Locking reloading my desktop.

I have 2 problems for you guys today!

Ok right i have Vista Ultimate and i have a Linksys WAG54GX2 Router which this pc is directly wired to (i have a laptop and another pc round the house that uses this router's wireless function). My first problem is that if i leave my computer (just stand up and go) i dont know when but the internet goes (since my programs teamspeak, mIRC) say that the connection has been timed out when i return, even though my internet is on when i return so it shows it must of disconnected some point when i was away. Anyone know how to fix this?

My second problem is that if i'm downloading something over night, i set it up then i 'Lock this Computer' from the start menu. When i come down in the morning i enter my pass in the welcome screen but it seems like my desktop is reloading, like it was just rebooted. All my startup programs reload and the thing i was downloading was exited so its proberly not finished. I looked in my power setting in the control panel and all the standyby and turning harddrive off is set to 'Never'.

You can tell if the system has rebooted during the night by checking the system log. (Click start->right-click Computer->Click Manage) Click Event Viewer, System, and look for EventLog EventID 6009. This event is thrown when your computer is restarted.

Automatic Updates much?

Post your c:\windows\windowsupdate.log

That would be my first guess.

So. You're failing something during a post reboot for automatic updates for either KB933928 or KB935280. I'd recommend trying to update Windows using download.microsoft.com website while you are up and at the system, and see if they error out with a manual installation.

At least we know why the hybernating is getting borked up.

No idea man. I support Microsoft Update, WSUS, malware, and the security updates Microsoft puts out every month.

Network timeouts? I'd start by checking the logs for errors or warnings during the time-out timeslice, but that's just me poking your problem with a sharp stick.
