"It seems svchost.eve is part of the avast anti virus program, as soon as i updated like it was requesting me too do i stopped receiving the message."

I don't think so, friend. Svchost.exe is the Microsoft service hosting process. It allows executables to run as services. If you have that EXE file running from any folder other than %systemroot%\system32, you have trouble. I guarantee.

Updating Avast may have allowed Avast to remove whatever malware you were having an issue with, or Avast may be running under a legitimate Svchost process in Windows, or it may have been incidental. However, again, if you've got svchost.exe running out of anything other than the system32 folder, you have trouble.

This is malware for sure. I dont know where I got it but I got rid of it.
1. Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" in the Tools>Folder Options>View
2. Stop the "Mespanger" bullsht service.
3. Delete c:\Recyclers\svchost.exe
4. Then run regedit and search for any traces it it. (I have yet to do lol)

BTW I am running Vista Home Prem
