"You must reboot your computer for the changes to take effect" at every startup!
Hi all hope you can help. I have been setting up a customers new top spec laptop and i've come accross an anoying problem. There was alot of updates, installing and uninstalling going on and I think either Norton internet security or Windows updates have something to do with it. Anyway the problem is everytime Vista boots up the message "You must reboot your computer for the changes to take effect " appears and no matter how many times I reboot it still pops up at startup.
Now i've tried uninstalling all the Windows updates and installing them again and that didn't solve the problem. Because this customer bought anothr antivirus I uninstalled the Norton Internet security free trial, which needs a reboot to finish uninstallation, as the Windows updates were downloading (18 of them) and don't no if this interferred with the installation process of the updates upon reboot Anyway if I could just get rid of this message I would be verry greatfull.
The laptop is a SONY VGNFZ11S.CEK specs are here https://www.sonystyle.co.uk/SonyStyl...orward=showcua
Thanks in advance.
Mark.

See if there is any listing in WhyReboot that tells you what the reboot is for.
