I've got Vista Ultimate(64-bit)... Need help
Need help getting some games running, what info do you need?

Battlefield 2142
Dark Age of Camelot
Spyware Doctor

The Error message is
"this game has only been tested on the 32-bit version"

Then it crashes and i get this message that tells me it's searching for a solution... etc.

Thanks!

Firstly have you updated everything? if you have i would right click the icon go to compatibility and run it in Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode and see if that works... I know that has worked for me on a few occasions.

The error messages seems self-explanatory. The game hasn't been tested on a 64-bit operating system. You're trying to run it on one, and you're having problems. I don't believe compatibility mode applies here, but I can't be sure. I dug around on the web for a bit and didn't see anything about this particular game and 64-bit Windows.

I did read that there may be some incompatibilities with software, hardware, and drivers and a 64-bit OS. This might be one such incompatibility.

so they will never work unless I use the 32-bit verssion?

If this is the case is there somewhere I can download a codec/driver to make it the 32-bit version? Or will I have to buy a new version of Vista? Plus it's $60 for microsoft support... *******s. I don't want to spend that for them to tell me to go buy another version... and it's $200 for Ultimate again, I got it for so much cheaper when i bought this computer.... UGH!!

Thanks!

Lightbulb try this
try to open the cd and see is there is an install on setup file in there and right click on it and highlight run as administrator and if lets you in stall it you may still have to right click the desktop icon change compatability mode and when you done with that the first time you go to run it you may need to right click the desk top icon and run as administrator.

Vista comes with DirectX and is backward compatible with DX9 , DX8 etc. What you be experiencing is some missing files, not installed normally with directx. These are namely:
d3dx9_27.dll and possibly d3d9.dll which can be placed in Windows\system32:

You could try but whether it'll make a difference or not is any one's guess. Use the one provided with the game.

Use google, search of a no-cd crack for BF2, backup your original *.exe, install crack.
