Vista and DSL slows hard disk functions
I have Vista Home premier with a HP Dual core system, 3 gigabytes, 350Gig HD, and when I try to do hard disk transfers or edit pictures, the hard disk stops working? My memory allocation is 30%. Is there a fix for this? I need help.

Need more information. What do you mean "the hard disk stops working"? Also, what does DSL have to do with the issue?

More Info
I have subsequently learned that the hard disk locks up when my Earthlink DSL modem is connected. Again my system is a HP Dual core Intel chip set, with 3 meg byte RAM, 300 gig HD, and upgraded video card. I tried contacting Earthlink about a Vista Home Premium upgrade patch to no avail. When the DSL is disconnected, the hard disk functions ( draging images to subdirectories, inventoring subdirectories etc) all works well. This obviously is an I/O problem with the DSL eithernet connection. Any suggestions?
