cleanin' out new box...
Where to start? This is my second vistabox (both HP ed.), and the first one took two weeks to unfold.

70 processes in taskmanager, 1 gig of page file, and I've done absolutely zero, except punch in wireless passphrase, and come runnin' here.

Any shortcuts to begin housecleanin'? AOL removal? Ending unnecessary processes? Etc., etc., ...

Little help please... Thanks

Edit: TSG pages are taking aobut 12 - 15 seconds to load. (no others visited yet...)

You know, I think I would run HiJackThis and have a look at what is running. It will give you a better description of what is what. http://download.bleepingcomputer.com...HiJackThis.exe

The last new HP I bought (years ago) came with wild tangent and a bunch of other undesirable crap. Maybe you should even post the log in security and see if you have any "bundled" BS that isn't exactly good.

Thanks skivvy...

Funny that you say HP! I meant vista Home Premium. And the box IS an HP (dv9428nr).
