Post urgent help needed with vista networking..
i hav a compaq presario laptop preloaded with vista home basic....
i use the laptop to connect to the LAN in my college......
the lan appears to be connected and a good amount of sent n received data is observed....
i can successfully ping the other comps on my network but i cant ping my own ip.....
it says request timed out...

in my network i can see other computers but cant access them,...
it says...the network path doesnt exist...

plz help..i need it urgently...!!!...

Post a screen shot of the Network and Sharing Center. Is your network listed as a Private or Public network?

To post a screen shot of the active window, hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application and Paste the screen shot. You can then use PAINT to trim to suit, and save it as a JPG format file. To upload it to TSG, open the full reply window and use the Manage Attachments button to upload it here.
