page_fault_in_nonpaged_area - Now going on 2 weeks
For about a week and a half now I've been getting the dreaded Blue Screen of death appear on my desktop (HP Pavillion a1626n) with Vista. I have no idea what is causing it other than it's a page_fault_in_nonpaged_area:
**stop: 0x00000050 (0x80000000, 0x00000001, ox81ce8227c, 0x00000000)

This is what I got when I looked at the dump file:

He said he's running Vista and doesn't want to have to go back to XP.

As a fellow Leaf fan, i didn't want you to suffer any more pain than you (we) have already.

"The error you are getting 0x00000050 is a hardware driver or system service requested data that was not in memory. The cause may be defective physical memory (RAM) or incompatible software, especially remote contol and antivirus programs. If the error occurs immediately after installing a device driver or application, try to use Safe Mode to remove the driver or uninstall the program.

For more info. see Knowledge Base article 894278, http://www.vista-io.com/2307 or article 183169, http://www.vista-io.com/2308"

Please note this info. was taken verbatim from the book 'Windows Vista Inside-Out'.

Hope it helps, good luck,

Is there any way I can find the incompatible software? I've tried using verifier but I can't seem to get my head around it, I'm more of a power user, so I don't know all the ins and outs of vista yet.

List for me the programs you have installed - let's try it that way first.

Instead of typing all the programs, I thought uploading the image of the installed programs.

I hope this will help. I couldn't think of an easier way to list them all. Thanks for your help, by the way!

OK LF28, there's a few i can see that might cause a problem -

iTunes
Logitech QuickCam
Roxio

Make sure you have the latest update for each and make sure each are Vista Compatible. I'd heard there was compatibility issues with iTunes - i also have a QuickCam that refuses to work and Roxio has given almost every version of Windows a migraine!

If that don't work, systematically go through all your proggies and make sure you have the latest version for them (again, check the compatibility for Vista) Update video and audio drivers too.

That's the extent of my suggestions at the moment - hope you get it resolved. I certainly hate BSOD as much as the next guy!

Download ISO and burn this memory diagnostic to CD, reboot your PC and boot to the disk. Let it run for 12 passes.
