Vista Business User Profile Problem I run a small business and we have recently been attempting to get all of our computers on to an active directory. We are all running Vista Business, and each of us had a previous user profile for our local machine.
The establishment of the new user profile on the active directory went smoothly, but the problem popped up when we tried to copy our employees' old user files and preferences to the new profile. Most of the machines allowed us to copy the old profile on to the new one using System->Advanced System Settings->User Profiles Settings, but on some machines, the local profile cannot be seen from the networked one. When these users log in using the local profiles, they can see both profiles, but the local one cannot be copied. (The Copy to... button is grayed out.)
We're a busy office, and I really don't want my employees to have to copy all their files on to an external drive and reset their settings. Does anyone know how what permissions I have to change to allow the local profile to be copied? |
