I need to be guided to find how to create an association in the set associations control panel as i cannot open some of my emails i am using vista

Control Panel - Default Programs - Set Associations.

Wait for the list to load.

Having already noted what the filename extention of the email attachment is in the email that you cannot open (the 3 or 4 characters after the . in the file name) look for that under the "name" column.

But the reality could be that you simply do not have the correct software installed that will open the email, so you will then be unable to assign a program to the file.

If you could tell us what the file extension is, we could identify what program is required to open it?
