haha, no ideas, but mine is doing the exact same thing, except I have an hp pavillion. Weirdest part is that it worked ONCE. As well, I've tried testing it (I've downloaded all the drivers) in QuickPlay, and it doesnt even show up as there. If anyone has ANY ideas, i would be SOOO happy to figure out what's wrong with it. I also tried installing my Logitech webcam, but it seems to be having other issues as well, lol (probably namely from the fact that i bought it for an XP computer.)

@ poem Does it make the connected sound when you connect the webcam is connected?

@ hovercraft- Were you ever able to make it start working before at all?

its the built-in webcam, so i can't exactly connect or disconnect it, which makes me laugh when it says it might be unplugged.

I've had problems with my HP laptop too, what *usually* works is disabling it (exiting everything, msn, quickplay) in the device manager (imaging devices,) and then re-enabling it, but this only works sometimes. The camera is a complete bugger, the mic is **** too

I have an HP also and the built in webcam is come and go. I find if I uninstall the driver and reboot all is well for a few days....

I'm using Vista Ultimate and it's 64bit.

But that might be because of 64 bit since there is a lot of issues that hardware drivers not being 64 bit. And since there is a scarce amount of 64 bit software.
