Clicking and nothing happens
I recently bought a new Dell and returned it because I had so many problems with it. I replaced it with a different Dell and now I am having some of the same issues, so I am leaning toward it being a Vista problem.

I am having a problem with my computer responding to the mouse. When I try and click on something on the desktop, nothing happens. If I'm in internet explorer, I can no longer right click and the scroll does not work. If I type something in the search bar and click 'search', nothing happens. This has happened a few times, it seems to go back to normal after about 15 minutes, but then goes back to not responding to clicks a short time later. My mouse came with my computer and is a Dell mouse (wired opitcal mouse) so I don't think the mouse is the problem.

Any suggestions on what I can do? I've tried fiddling with the configurations on my mouse and such, but nothing has seemed to help so far. Thanks in advance for any help.

Unhappy same problem
hi, i recently purchased my computer as well and have the same problem.

when this happens, are you unable to open new tabs in internet explorer? and when you click the start button, are you unable to access any of the programs?

what type of computer do you have?

Hi, yes, that is what's happening with my computer. I'm unable to right click, either. Also, when I mimimize all of my windows I am unable to get them to reopen by clicking on them on the taskbar and thus I must restart the computer using the power button on the front.

My dell is seriously only a week old, it's brand new...Inspirion 530 2GB, 350GB-HD, vista premium (home). I have contacted Dell several times and they have attempted a fix several times.

They did remove the Google Toolbar program and I haven't had problems in over a day, which is an improvement, but I don't know yet if it was the solution.
