Yup, had this problem too!
First workround ( and it is only a workround- if you have an old win 98 disk, it can sometimes boot for you, if you are lucky. Put it in the CD rom, let the computer boot from the cd, then choose boot from harddisk in the options. Not entirely sure why it works, but it does a lot of the time. I think because it has a bootsystem, it gets around the no ntldr prob.
Second solution, that i had to use today ( bl~=!%y windows!!!) is to reinstall partially. Boot from the vista disk, then at a point along the way it gives you the option to repair. Say yes to this, and it will continue installing, but boots into the old system. Tedious and painful, but kind of gets you there

AMD5200 dual core @6.6ghz?
I am sure you like overclocking but how do you get this?
my amd5200 has 2 processors at 2.6 ghz each.

katabby, the 5200 refers to 2 cores at 2.6 each ( which i know you know!). To get 6.6, thats 2cored running at 3.3, to get that just up the FSB in the BIOS. Do it a little at a time, to make sure the system is stable, and basically keep going. Maybe need to up the voltage to the cpu a bit, and there are a few damp spots ( as i recall, i hit a cannot boot stage around 240FSB, but if you keep going, sometimes it starts working again), but with luck you can push these chips a fair way.
BUT, and it is big but...
Make sure you know what you are doing.
Read all the guides you can.
I am in no way advocating overclocking, IT CAN DESTROY YOUR MACHINE. I am just recounting a procedure I carried out at my own risk.
If you overclock, you invalidate all warranties on all your hardware.
DO NOT overclock. It will destroy your machine ( eventualy, or from the start).
Again, I am NOT saying o/cing is safe, or good, and i take no responsibility for anything at all that goes wrong. And it probably will.
Having said that, next time i use rig 2, I will see if i can take the settings off for a post.
