New PC with Vista OS
I recently bought a new Inspirion 1420 from dell. I purchased the home premium edition of vista and also added the home and student edition of MS office 2007. Come to find out that outlook 2007 didn't come with that version. My old laptop has XP OS SP2 along with MS office pro 2003. Am I able to run Outlook 2003 on vista OS?I am new to the vista OS and trying to familiarize myself with it. Any help will do me good.

Thank You!

Yes, you can run Outlook 2003.
Did the Office 2003 come with the OLD laptop or did you do a retail buy?
Also it is very hard to extract only Outlook from a Office CD. You need to install the 2003 product and the the 2007 version.
Also note that Outlook 2003 will not support any 2007 enhancements including the new formats.

I bought it retail.

So I probably wasted my money by buying office 2007.

You can always BUY a set from HP, I have done it many times and they (the CD and DVD's) work every time. I think most of them run around $20.00 US plus shipping. No need in paying for the "OVERNIGHT" unless you are in need of doing the rebuild and lost the source off of your hard drive.
I have had problems with some of the "Home brewed" ones.

One of the problems is that if you do not have the correct DVD format (R- Vs R+) some times you lose the one time try.
You can alway give it a try, but just remeber that you jsut may need to buy a copy later.
