cannot click on excel to open in Vista
'unable to locate program' comes up when I try to open an excel file from anywhere but excel. I.E. I cannot open an excel doc by clicking on it, I have to open up excel program, find file and then click on it to open.
We recently upgraded to Vista and all the other Office programs work OK, Word, Powerpoint, Project etc.....we are running off a server with each person having his or her own ID and logon. Also, all programs seemed to work OK for the first week I had it. There are other people here too that are starting to have problems after using upgraded software for a week. What is happening? Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix? We tried reinstalling Excel and have also tried reassigning file extensions with no fix.
Help!

Try right clicking the file name, select Open With and select "Choose Default Program" and the select Excel. If it is not listed select the "Browse" button and then browse to your Excel.exe file.

I have done that already. I still connot open an Excel file without opening Excel first.
Error message I get:
"Windows cannot find 'S:\Design Engineering\New Model-Honda\35255-S7A-J02 cbs melting 5p english.xls'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."
Doesn't matter what the file name is though, I get this message.
Thank you for any assistance.
