Unhappy vista installation black screen wont boot up.
Well i got through the whole vista installation to the point it reboots and then the flashing green line across the screen shows up, then nothing , just a black screen and a no signal input sign on the screen, i updated the bios and tried again, it got a little furthur i got some txt telling me to wait until it had finished installing as if it was almost there then it went again back to the black screen, has anyone any clue why this is, this is the pc spec

Advent 3119 PC

any ideas appreciated as im at a loss as to what it could be now

You need at least one GB of RAM but 2 is much better.

Then you need Advent 3119 drivers for Vista, which you may never find.

@ loser0limbs, no we cant boot into safe mode

@DaveA it says on the box it can run on 512mb ram as a minimum requirement cauz i was worried bout that. i have just sent for another 512 to top it up. *goes in search of advent vista drivers* lol, it didnt actually say what the latest bios updates incuded that i used yesterday.

How long are you waiting before giving up? It takes a long time for the first bootup.

believe me we waited and waited but just thought id let you know the problem is sorted, apparently it was something to do with the way the hardrive was formatted i have no idea what because it was taken to pc world and i wasnt there, its now all up and running, thanks for the help.

During beta I had a laptop that took 5 hours to do the "Upgrade" and the first reboot took about a hour.
