Solved: Disappearing files
One interesting thing I've noticed with Vista is that it seems to like to quietly delete anything it decides is illegal, whether it is or not, with no notification. The only warning it gives you for external items is that it's "scanning", aka randomly deleting things. I'm down from 4000 music files to 1000 and more then a touch annoyed. Any ideas on how to stop this?

Stopped using Windows Media Player all together rather then trying to find the root. That solved it. Had kinda hoped to rescue WMP but oh well.

Same exact problem. 8,000 + files to 1,600 or so.

All LEGALLY downloaded from Napster
