Solved: Transfer windows vista to another HD
I have Windows Vista installed in my drive C: (a Seagate 80Gb 5400rmp), and I'd like to transfer it completely to other HD unit installed in my PC (another Seagate 320Gb 7200rpm) and change it as a new drive C:.

How can I do this in a easy way (like cloning)?

Or do I have to install it from scratch? If so, how can I make this putting the new HD as the drive C:?

Thanks in advance for the support.

I've successfully cloned my Vista drive using Acronis TrueImage 10. After cloning the drive it is necessary to boot from the Vista DVD and run Startup Repair, but after that has been run it all works great

There are a number of free cloners available. I use HDClone most of the time (the Pro version), but since there is no danger of losing data since cloning does not affect your original drive, these are worth a try if you don't want to purchase a cloning app.

Free Drive Cloners/Imagers:

XXClone
PCI CloneMaxx
Drive Image XML
EaseUs Disk Copy
HDClone
DriveClonerXP

Just remember that NEVER, when using a cloner, imager, or partitioning tool should you rely on drive letters alone to determine what partition you are working on. Different apps assign drive letters differently and almost none will assign them exactly as your OS has done. Use a second piece of information to be sure that you are working on the right partition, such as size or location, so that you don't end up formatting or removing your system partition in error. This applies even to XP's Recovery Console (where "map" will tell you drive letter assignments) and Vista's recovery console as well (where I haven't found a better way of finding letter assignments than trial and error).

Thanks people. I think that this information is sufficient to conduct my clone operation.
