vista on presario laptop
Hi all I am having a problem on start up. On start up I get a message saying that explorer has stopped working and windows is trying to solve the problem and it does it continually so Im unable to open anythingHELP.thanks

Is this a new machine?
If not did you do a clean install or a upgrade of the Vista OS?

Also tell us more about this machien?

Hi DaveA. It was new in January of 2007,we installed an Epson printer which did not work we then uninstalled it and during the uninstallation the explorer not working loop came up and we can not get rid of it.its driving me mad. iIs there a solution for this problem?. Another question I have a complete set of recovery discs for XP could iI load these onto the Presario laptop? Needless to say I am completely pc illiterate,Thanking you and anyone else that answers this. Cowpuncher.

I would contact Compaq or HP and have them walk you through this.
