As a beginner I don't know where to start. I tried a system restore to earlier times where I believed this wasn't happening with no luck. Antivirus and spyware states the computer is clean. Now what? Please be as non-technical as possible. Thank you so much for your help, I am losing my mind here.

What software and hardware have you added since you got this machine?

Only software added (not pre-installed) was McAfee Security Suite.
Only hardware was Lexmark X2350 printer which came with package.

If it was NOT the latest version of McAfee then it may be the problem.
I suggest that you reset to "Factory" settings and start over. Are you sure that the Gateway did NOT come with a AV and/or a security package, because running two of them will mess up any machine.
