Hello. I purchased a Compaq F572 Notebook with Vista about 3 weeks ago. All of a sudden now, when I turn on the laptop, the welcome screen appears and as soon as the taskbar starts to display, it goes to a black screen. The only way I can get my laptop desktop to show up is to connect a second monitor, with both monitors displaying the desktop. When I disconnect the second monitor and turn the laptop back on, the same thing happens - welcome screen and then black screen. My display settings are set for "mirrored" image. Please help!! Thank you!!!
