What is this program and what version?
Based on what you have stated, it appears to be a VERY OLD program and you will need to get a updated version.

Thats the problem, they haven't worked the bugs out for vista yet and I am hesitant to use it with vista , but my old computer with xp is ready to crash and I am trying to get everything ready to change over to a new dell 9400 with vista, which will be downgrade to xp pro (I HATE VISTA), the program developers want to charge 175.00 to tell me how to get the xp to use only the first 512meg for the program to operate and I really don't want to pay that price any help would be appreciated

It is NOT a Vista problem, but a issue with the program that you are trying to install. I do NOT think the even XP can be controlled to use ONLY the first 512, without limiting the amount of RAM that is installed in the machine.

If you dislike Vista so much, do NOT buy a machine with it on it. There are a lot of machines out there that do NOT have Vista, so why spend the extra money.

If you MUST run this application, you could always install XP under Microsoft Virtual PC and run it that way.
