Error: (Network) Printer cannot be removed. Make sure...
I recently sold my Brother HL-2070N network printer to my friend, and decided to remove it from my printers in Vista, but vista gives me this warning: "Printer cannot be removed. Make sure that you have typed the name correctly, and that the printer is connected to the network"

The problem is, the printer is not connected to the network because I have sold it to my friend already, so Vista's advice of connecting it to the network is impossible.

Initially, I had the printer setup as a network printer (http://x.x.x.x), and had installed Vista drivers from the manufacturer's website.

Thanks in advance!

There is a registry hack in this blog post that will allow you to manually delete the printer- obviously don't do this if you're not comfortable with editing the registry!

Thanks for the advice! I'll have to test that one out. I recently reformatted so it isn't a problem now. Thanks tho, will definitely bookmark it.
