Internet Problem
Ever since i have had Vista, every so often, my internet connection goes and just disconnects itself I try to reconnect but it cant seem to find it then The only way for me to fix it, is to restart my laptop and i hate doing that as i am sometimes in the middle of something and i have to close everything down. So does anyone know any ways to fix this or is it something im going to have to get used to with Vista

I also use a wireless router and its a Belkin one

Thanks, Daniel

Unfortunately Belkin routers are crap... I would try to reinstall the wireless router driver which you can probably download from maker site. You might also see if there is firmware update for router as well.

No I do not...Go here and put in your model number to see if there is a firmware u-pdate for the router or perhaps for router in Vista:
http://networking.belkin.com/update/index.html
I don't know if you are connecting through the router or an adapter so I really cannot sday more based on what you have told us...I mean is this a laptop or desktop? Did you upgrade to Vista? Brand name?

Routers are not reliable, some brands more than others! They have to be reset from time to time, just like your modem.

You might try going to Start-> Programs -> Accessories -> right click Command prompt and -> run as administrator.

type ipconfig /release
then
ipconfig renew

this renews the ip address on the PC, you can also power cycle the router and modem to renew their IP addresses.
