Idiots Guide to Disk Partitioning
Is there a simplified source of information on the ins and outs of hard drive partitioning?

My PC expertise doesn't extend much beyond trying to remember where the power button is located. Dealing with hard drive partitions feels like putting on a blindfold and walking into a swamp full of snakes and alligators.

Any guidance toward some basic education will be appreciated.

First why do you feel that you need any additional partitions?

The need that I feel is to understand the ins and outs of partitioning and partitions.

Perhaps the subject is way deeper than I need to explore.

Sorry, but did you provide the correct link? If so, I am worse off than I thought.

I also need help to partition my hard drive. I want to uninstall vista and load xp but I was told to partition my hard drive, load xp and drivers before removing vista. Is this correct?
