Exclamation Desktop gone
Hello

I have recently bought myself a brand new Fujitsu Siemens Computer, with Windows Vista Home Premium, and it runs just about perfect. Well, almost, for now, I have a strange problem.

As said before, my computer runs smooth, very smooth indeed, but my desktop is but black. Only black. No icons, no anything, however, the "procesline" (the bottomline, don't know what it's called - the bar with the startmenu and so on) and my gadgets works very fine, and that's what's irritating me extremely much.

I have a legal copy of Vista indeed, but I haven't registered yet (however, of course I have activated it), so does it have anything to do with that? Or anything else? I would be very glad to recieve some help.

Thanks in advantage

Are you sure that you did NOT change the background to black and turned OFF the Icon.
In the "Quick start" area of the task bar there is a icon which will display "Show Desktop" when you hover over it.

Also if you right click the desktop make sure that there is a check mark at "Show desktop icons".

Wow... I'm obviously extremely stupid!

Thank you SO much! It's working now!

But just a quick question. Is there some hotkey that activate this thing? Because I never changed my desktop, and I never pressed the "show icons" button.

But MANY thanks! MANY MANY MANY thanks! Now I know, that my computer is fully functional!
