BootMGR is Compressed
Hi

Just got round to installing Vista however after installing fine, it reboots and then says bootmgr is compressed.

Vista is installed on a SATA HDD however i have an IDE HDD in as well, if i remove the IDE HDD it boots up fine (The IDE HDD is compressed, but not the SATA with vista on)

Does anyone have any ideas why its picking up the bootmgr of the compressed hdd instead of the one ive told it to boot from

Thanks

P.S Ive tried deleteing the bootmgr from the IDE Hdd and it still comes up with the error

attrib bootmgr -s -r -h
del bootmgr
ren temp bootmgr
attrib bootmgr -a +s +r +h

bootrec /fixboot

bootrec /fixmbr

Boot with the Vista DVD.. >> After Entering Setup hit your SHIFT-F10 key >> Thie Will open Command Prompt.

Now Type the Above Commands one by one and Hit Enter after each line

Tried them DOS commands, hasnt sorted it.

Plugged the IDE HDD into a borrowed USB caddie, uncompressed the root of the drive (dont have enough space free to uncompress the whole drive), that still didnt sort it.

If i unplug the IDE it boots fine but wont if its plugged in even through its not set to boot from that
