Compaq Presario won't boot from CD Drive
Okay, sorry for the very little information, but someone that I know called me up and told me that "Their compaq Presario won't boot from a CD and they tinkered with the Boot up settings already, and it won't boot from the cd, because they had Vista Premium and they screwed it, and now they have Business, and it doesn't have any of their stuff on it. The CD is apparently a Backup cd, so if you have any suggestions on what to do, I only use dell computers so I am not totally familiar with the configurations of the boot menu right now.

What does that mean? Why did they go out and buy Business when they had Home Premium?

I bought a Compaq Presario about 6 weeks ago. No problem booting from a Restore DVD. Is his computer still under warranty? If so, I think he should call HP tech support. Also, did that computer come with a Restore CD/DVD or did it have a Recovery partition on the hard drive? It most likely had the latter; it would definitely had one or the other.

In what way did your friend "tinker with the Boot up settings"? Let's face it, your friend appears to be not very computer savvy. That's going to make this more difficult.
