Vista > XP
this is a weird problem that i have...

when i reboot from Vista into XP, when the Windows XP logo comes up and that blue bar moves from left to right, it starts moving very very slowly after a few seconds.

here's the really strange part, when i turn my modem off then back on it continues to load XP, but if not then the blue bar continues to move very very slowly.

i don't get what is going on here. only thing i can think of is that my modem somehow doesn't release connectivity when i exit out of Vista and boot back into XP. any ideas??

Intel Core2 Duo 2.66 gigahertz
2Gig of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS (640MB)
2x WD SATA 320Gig hard drives
2x LG SATA DVDRW drives

the same thing happens now when i boot from XP into Vista also. any ideas as to what could be causing this?

i have a firewire port that is also listed as a network connection in Network Connections. could this have anything to do with it?
