Smile removable storage devices and vista
Hi

Could anyone please tell me why when i use my USB memory stick it seems to take an absolute age to copy.It seems to spend ages calculating time needed then is so slow.

Never was like this XP, seemed so fast.

Anyone any ideas

If you are using a new VISTA machine it should work as fast as your XP machine. If you 'upgraded' to VISTA then possibly you have a Driver issue, i.e. your computer no longer knows it's using USB 2.0 and thinks it can only go USB 1.0 speeds. If that is the case you might be seeing a message saying "USB 2.0 device on USB 1.0 port".
