You have an amd64 dual core. I am going to make a guess that you have a Nforce chipset motherboard. The nforce chipset supports hot swapping of drives SO if you have a sata drive connected, it is normal to see that icon.

I recently purchased 2 desktops - a HP Pavilion a6050y and a HP Pavilion a6150y. Both desktops have an HP all-in-one(different models) connected to them via USB. The a6150y has the "Safely remove hardware" icon in the taskbar, but the a6050y doesn't. I don't worry about it.
