Put mail and websites on desktop?
Can't seem to figure out how to access my mail whilst on the web , without closing and opening the mail option on the programs file. Is there a way to put a link to mail on the desktop.....also how do I make a shortcut to a website on the desktop....very confusing VISTA!

This tells you how to put a shortcut to websites on your Vista desktop. Good luck, hope it works for you.

There are many ways to do either.
Use windows Explorer to navigate to Program files/Windows mail.
Right click "WinMail.exe" and drag it to the Desktop or Task bar. Release the mouse and it will ask if you wish to make a shortcut. After that you can rename it as you wish
If you have the website on your hard disk you can do the same thing. Otherwise. Open the Web page and copy the address (Drag the mouse across the address and then hit control C)
Right click the desktop
Select NEW/Shortcut.
Paste in the address in the box (control V)
Again you can rename it.

To make a website shortcut on your desktop using FireFox, just drag the tab you're viewing onto the desktop & release.

To make the desktop a little neater...right click anywhere on it then click on 'new' > in the dropdown menu, choose folder. You can name the new
folder(s) according to what you've put in them; such as Vista Help, Games, Fav. Forums, etc..
