Unhappy Hmmm sound?? gone!?! network gone too!!
just a few hours ago my family pulled out the phone line downstairs, rage huh?

And as soon as that happened the speakers of my computer stopped working!!!
ive tried everything unpluggin it etc and lookin into control panel at the sound part...
it says that the speakers are working...
also in the bottom right of bar thing (sorry im not too techy) where the volume thing is, there is a big red X beside it... and it says i have no devices installed, i got no disk with my speakers and i dont know how im ment to install them on it?

any help would be appreciated!
also im running vista... which is near enough a criminal offence for windows... lol

in addition i am not connected to any network on my sky broadband but the internet is still running! and if i try to connect to a network it fails badly!

if anyone can help with these id be a very happy guy!

pcz

Ps: this is all thanks to my mother! yay her!!

Right click on the X'd out sound icon, click on "Playback Devices". You will see "speakers"...it tells you the name and if they're working. Click on that area. Choose properties, then set them accordingly...in the General tab, you can enable the speakers you use.In the Advanced tab, click on 'test'.

I know nothing
I have similar prob with my sound apart from no reason for sudden loss. After playing around looking for drivers I found that when I removed my graphics card driver sound came back . I still cannot get both working together mind you . would be interesting if same happens for you.
