Programs That Can't Be Killed in Processes
I have Vista Home Ultimate and have a problem running a couple bittorrent programs. Utorrent is the bigger problem. If I run the exe most times the program will not start on the desktop, but will show in processes. If I run the exe again it will tell me its already running. Since its not on the desktop I cannot close it, so I go to processes and kill it, but it won't die. I've used an assortment of killers and none seem to stop this process, or Azureus when I'm running it and it locks up.
I cannot figure out the chain of events that sometimes allow Utorrent to open - usually when opening a torrent file. However, this is rare. Azureus starts most times, but seems to get stuck once in a while. It cannot be killed from processes and I have to uninstall and reinstall it to get it working properly.
I have nod32 2.7 and zonealarm, but will be running bitdefender internet security when the software arrives. I believe I've set these properly. I've shut down UAC and try running as an administrator and with XP compatibility. Seems to make no difference.
I'd appreciate any help with this one.

Likely an admin is going to close the thread since they frown upon those types of programs.
