No desktop , no start menu/taskbar, extreme slow boot
It seems like there a lot of people experiencing very similar issues as me, but there are some slight differences. If I let it hang long enough, SOMEtimes it will finish booting up(takes about 5 min), but not always. I usually have to kill explorer.exe and restart it using task manager. I can use, like others here, the explorer window, but thats it. The screen is black, no taskbar, no start menu or desktop background. What could cause this, would a registry repair program fix it, is it spyware, or is it just a broken Windows OS?

ps. I started my own thread, so I wouldnt hijack someone else's, so please help me out here, even if you've already stated the same stuff.

Have you run spyware and virus scans?

Beyond that, a Vista Repair may be in order. Here is a good repair tutorial.
