no operating system
hello i did a restore on my dell inspiron 1501 laptop and now when i power on i get a msg saying:-windows boot manager insert operating dvd and do a repair,i put the dvd in and power up but get the same msg with a msg underneath saying an error occurred while attempting to read boot configuration data,any ideas please?

Have you contacted Dell?

It sounds as though your boot cd is corrupt, do you have a backup? if not, dell can probably help you. In order to get the BEST POSSIBLE SERVICE EVER (Thanks Todd) contact one of dell customer advocates trough www.Direct2dell.com

Did you run the repair though on the first screen?
