Windows Mail Import from Outlook Express 6
I searched the forum and read that others are having problems importing from OE6 to Windows Mail in Vista. I have imported OE6 messages many times with XP, but have never been successful with Vista (Windows Mail). I followed the import instructions but get the message that there are no messages in the folders to import. Any suggestions?

Hi fjmuscar

Did you verify the path did not list a duplicate folder before the Import?
If it shows a duplicate folder, edit the path to correct it.

Thank you for your response. I browsed directly to where all of the dbx folders were located. I moved them from the hard drive to an external USB drive. So there was no duplicate folder, unless it was one of the dbx files.

Don't know if it has been fixed yet, but when using the Import function in Windows Mail, it will duplicate a folder name in the path.

It doesn't matter where the .dbx files are located, you should verify that Windows Mail is showing the correct path before continuing the Import process.

Hopefully this will make it clearer:

Sure enough, Vista had a duplicate directory entry and was pointing to a non-existent directory. Corrected that and the inmport worked great. Thanks very much for your help. I'm going to seek out help here first instead of trying to find it on my own on Microsoft's website. Thanks again.
