Is this one of those "no disk" messages?

Post a HijackThis scanlog in any event >>

Download and install HijackThis using the "self extractor". Run it and select "do a system scan and save the log file". Then copy/paste the contents of the log to a reply

I have done as you suggested,.I do not know how to post it to this forum have tried to cut/copy and pasted i am having no success. I have the log but do not know what to do with it . The problem seems to have disappeared, I deleted spy-ware terminator and returned my start-up to normal as opposed to selective start-up. I would still like to know how to place this log on this page. many thanks Aine

Yes, but confirm that the problem no longer exists?

Returning to "normal" startup would not have fixed it since that loads all startup proceses, not just selected ones.

Possibly the program you removed was involved.

The only other "suspects" I can see might be Picassa Media Detector if it was looking for media on a disk that was removed or Acronis Scheduler2 Service which might be looking for a backup disk.
