wireless printer going offline with vista

I have a wireless hp printer that works great with my laptop (xp) but on my wifes (vista) i have to constantly delete the old printer and then add it again because it always goes offline but is still online with mine(xp). does anyone have any suggestions?
i have already made sure all firmware and drivers are up to date
