Look in your modem options. Chances are that all you need to do is add the code at the begining of your dialup number that temporarily disables call-waiting. It varies according to location. Whatever the code in your area, add it to the beginning and then put in a pause or 2 so the line will accept the change before the dialing begins. For example:

*70,,<your ISP's number>

If you have any program that allows "modem-on-hold", i.e., allows you to temporarily use the telephone without disconnecting the modem, then disable that program.

And, if you have a progressive and modern ISP that supports the V92 protocol, then you may need to send a command to your modem to use V90 instead.

The *70, worked I just had to put it in front of my isp # instead of using it in the dialing properties box.

Thanks
